Setting Up Your Home-theater

The introduction of DVD players represents the biggest technological advance since the beginning of home-theater. Digital encoding of movies offers a huge improvement in picture quality as well as a spectacular leap of performance in sound quality, especially for channel separation. Since each speaker reproduces its own dedicated soundtrack, we can now experience a level of quality that is equal or better of the best theaters.

With this in mind, the quality of electronics is more important than ever. The A/V receiver has a more complex task to complete than its stereo counterpart. The power supply inside the unit must be able to feed multiple circuits properly: 5 to 7 amplifiers, tuner, pre-amplificator and a digital decoder. This is one reason why ultimately separate components like the ROTELS electronics will always be a better choice.

The same applies to loudspeakers. It is not a good idea to apply the same budget for 6 speakers as opposed to one pair of good speakers. To get the same quality one must readjust his budget accordingly. The B&W loudspeakers offer a high quality-price ratio factor and that will satisfy any budget.

More than ever one should get quality over quantity. Listening to music on a cheap audio-video system is mostly disappointing but on the opposite, watching a movie on a great stereo system is always an impressive experience.
